Explain that you were only defending yourself against the thug

You calmly explain how the thugs attacked you and how you were forced to defend yourself. "That is not what the witnesses told me," the officer says.
"You mean the two henchmen who attacked me along with their leader? Who are you going to believe, a couple of Cairo street thugs or a proper lady of the Van Helsing family?"
The lieutenant nods. "I suppose you have a point there. I am familiar with the lethality of your combat skills, Miss Van Helsing. In future conflicts, perhaps holding back a little would be a wiser choice. The average man doesn't stand a chance in a fight against you, and it would be better for all if you used only enough force to make them back off."
"I understand. And there's no need for formalities with the Miss Van Helsing. You may call me Ana."
"Thank you, Miss V...I mean Ana."
The officer and his men disappear down the street. You sigh with relief. Now you can get back to your real mission.
A couple of hours later, you are just about ready to call it quits for the day when you hear a terrified male scream coming from an abandoned building. Your hands instinctively reach for the revolver and knife you appropriated from the thugs who attacked you as you quickly think of your next move.
