You drive to the very center of the city, hopelessly. You have no idea what you should do. If Melanie is sick, you can't bring her to the quarantine zone. She might be infected, and who knows what they might do to her.

You pull over and glance around, trying to figure out your next move.

You never notice Melanie sit up in the back seat, or the sores on her face as you stare out the windshield. When she leans over and sinks her teeth into your throat, you have no time to react save to push her away. Unfortunately, doing so causes a large chunk of your flesh to go with her.

You bleed profusely, spraying the inside of the car with blood. Melanie laughs, then gets out of the car, leaving you to die alone.
