You place your three treasures on the floor and dig through the straw on the off chance there's something else of value hidden in the cell.
You don't find another treasure, but you do uncover a pair of surprisingly clean pants.
"Them mine," the old man says absently. "Been saving them in case I get an important visitor."
He's too into sniffing the insides of the princess' shoes to really pay attention to you.
