Dig around the pawn shop for something else you could use.

From Create Your Own Story

"I'm not sure that's a great idea," you say. "One gun with two bullets isn't going to help us get far. And sneaking all that way?" You look back to Marla. "It just seems like a huge risk."

Marla breaks the shotgun open and looks inside for a moment, before slamming it shut and putting it over her shoulder. "Honestly, that surplus store is probably either ransacked, or it's owners have the place locked up tight and are inside, armed to the teeth. Probably get shot just trying to get in."

You head up and down the few aisles of shelves, finding mostly stereo equipment, power tools, and old dvds. Here and there you find a musical instrument, a few pairs of work boots, and a set of skis. As you dig around, Marla follows.

"What about this?" she asks, lifting up a hammer for you to see. It's huge. Larger than a regular carpenter's hammer. What it's for, you don't know, but if you swung it with both hands you could do some real damage. "This'd probably crack a skull or two." You nod, taking the hammer and slipping it under your belt.

As you continue digging, you find an old CB radio sitting on the shelf. Marla comes up behind you and grabs it. "Wow. Shit. If we could get this thing working I bet we could find out what's going on," she says, lifting the handset up to her lips, and in a fake southern drawl says "breaker breaker one nine, what's the twenty on them bears?"

You could take the guns and go for ammo. You could go back to her place and think about your next move. You could spend some time with the radio and try to sort out what's happening. At this point, all seem like valid and equally dangerous options.
