D&D: FEB: Sneak into a stable unnoticed

From Create Your Own Story

You sneak in to a nearby stable, which appears to be almost full and left closed for the night. There are two empty stalls, but it's fairly cold and it occurs to you sleeping with a warm horse might be more comfortable. After scouting the stable, you find a few options. One stall is occupied by a large draft horse, which should be very warm and the breed is known for being quite gentle. Another is occupied by a pony, possibly a halfling's mount, which may be easiest to deal with should anything unexpected occur. There are also a couple of stalls that are unlatched, and yet you can hear breathing from inside them.
