Confront the woman about shooting her husband

From Create Your Own Story

"You murdered your husband," you say. "No matter what else happened or how it traumatized you, you killed the man in cold blood."

"Yes," she says. "I know that."

"And you feel no guilt at all?"

"No," she says with a shrug. "I don't. For years he left me in this house to rot alone on wine, while he cavorted around on so-called business trips, fucking a bevy of young women. Dozens of women. He bragged about it to his friends. He made me feel small and useless, and destroyed my sense of self." She shrugs again. "So I shot him. Why not? If all of this passes and they want to put me in prison, that's fine. If it doesn't pass, he would have certainly ended up dying anyway."

"Maybe he would have," you say. "Maybe not. You can't just murder someone for cheating on you!"

"I did though. Which means that I can." She shrugs again. "Drop it, will you. If you feel uncomfortable with the situation, you're more than welcome to leave."

The woman has no qualms about killing, that's for sure. Her eyes are cold and unwavering. If she's telling the truth, you feel bad for her, but that's no excuse for murder. You eyeball the shotgun next to her and wonder if you could get to it before she had a chance to use it. Maybe, you think. Just maybe, especially if she's actually as drunk as she claims she is.
