‘CUNT!’ you shout, pointing your finger at your mother accusingly, but with a contradicting grin on your face. For a moment there is no sound but the sizzling of bacon and no movement but the quivering of your finger and the contortion of your mothers features. Then your mother speaks
- ‘Chris, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about your language. It’s become a real problem at school and it’s starting to manifest here.’
With clear difficulty, your mother attempts to control what looks like anger, before swallowing it and attempting to continue talking with what resembles a smile.
- ‘We’ll talk about it later. Are you…thinking of getting ready for school now?’
