You place your hand on his thigh, causing a visible flinch around the fly of his jeans.

"Okay, I'll help you. Let me just let Justin know I'll be leaving." He gets up holding a notebook in front of his crotch and has a word with the other, less-nerdy-looking guy at the help desk. He comes back and follows you out of the lab.
