An Embarrassing Adventure/teen house-bedroom window

You look into a window just in time to see the three of them successfully sneak into the tall girl's bedroom, close the door behind them, and lock it. Immediately the tall girl and boy embrace and kiss passionately while the shorter girl looks on, smiling broadly.
Suddenly there is a knock at the door and a male voice, "Is that boy in there with you?!"
"No, dad," the tall girl replies, "He already went home."
"Yeah it's just the two of us," the shorter girl adds.
"Alright, well, I'm leaving for work."
"Bye, daddy!"
You wait to see what else will happen, but it seems they are formulating some sort of plan. Is it because her father is leaving for work?
