A Nightmare

From Create Your Own Story

You wake up in your bed in cold sweat, crying, writhing and clutching your pillow. You don't understand. You just don't understand these dreams.

You've been getting recurring dreams these past few months. Some of them are nice ones, but there are also some nightmares, like this one. The couple are always in your dreams. You seem to be their daughter in those situations, as explained by their manner of speaking to you. But that can't be. You don't know them. You haven't even seen them in real life.

You don't have a mother. You've asked them a couple of times if they know her, but they don't respond. You're father looks nothing like the man in your dreams. Your dream father is nicer, more loving than your real father. The house also looks a lot nicer in your dreams. More furniture, more servants and a prettier garden. You seem to be liking your dream world better than reality--if it's a good dream, that is.

You glance at the wall clock hanging in the wall in front of you. Despite the dark surroundings, you could tell that the time is 3:38 in the morning. A bit too early for your taste. You don't want anyone to know that you're awake at this hour. They're already suspicious of you.

But then again, darkness may be your friend.
