"Oh, jesus. Oh, jesus christ." Higgs wheezes. He slumps down onto one of the desks and sits there, squinting at you with sweat in his eyes, static sending his arm hair up on end.
He can't handle this all. Been making this thing with you from the beginning, and he looses his head when it turns out that it actually works. Weak. Higgs was always weak.
He looks away from you.
"I can't, Theo. I've got a family."
He's scared. The culmination of everything you've been working towards is here in front of you, and he's scared.
