"Who?" She looks up at you with a single raised eyebrow. Mrs. McCloud would use to do that also.
"Nope, never mind." You grinned at her mischievously. You were such a troublemaker in Mrs. McCloud's class.
As you walk towards Mr. Clark's door, she calls to you.
"Hold on, young lady."
"Hmm?" You turn around to look at her.
"You be cautious in there." For the first time, her voice seems to be quivering a bit. A slight frown appears over her once expressionless face, causing her forehead to wrinkle.
"Of course." You wink and give her a thumbs up, thinking she might be wishing you good luck. "I wouldn't want to mess this up."
But again, you begin to wonder what she really meant...
