These are the Protected Page Guidelines:

General page protection

  • A page can be protected if it is under the MediaWiki namespace.
  • NOTE: Sysops, edit fully-protected pages carefully.

For vandalism

  • A page can be semi-protected when a large amount of IP vandalism occurs.
  • A similar rule exists for registered users.

For spamming

  • A page can be protected if a large amount of spamming can occur.
  • See the Spam Policy for more info.
