Bio:

Nathalie never knew anything different to life in the walled towns, as she wasn't even born when Death was sacked. She had a relatively normal life, the daughter of a banker and schoolteacher. She was happy, and did well at school. Then, at age 10, she started behaving oddly. She grew pale, her behaviour became erratic, her dress sense changed and she seemed apathetic. Before, she would pay attention in class. Now, she often daydreamed, and her parents were called in more than once to discuss the doodles on her work. They were disturbing, to say the least. She claimed she hadn't done any of them, despite more being found in her room.

Shortly after her eleventh birthday, it was discovered who had been doing it- Lyssa. Her 'sister' was (And still is), for lack of a better term, creepy. She was aware of things that a girl of that age shouldn't be, she was cruel and sadistic, and she was fascinated by death.

Nathalie and Lyssa never got on very well, and Nathalie tried several times to get her out. One of these attempts involved suicide. She missed the vein and was taken to hospital. Lyssa taunted her as she lay in her bed, saying that she should have cut along the vein if she truly desired death, but if she had then Lyssa would simply have taken over the body- it would have killed nathalie, not her. Of course this was a lie, but it scared the poor girl into ceasing any further attempts.

Nathalie's parents tried to treat the problem with drugs, giving her a fine cocktail of pills. They never worked, but Lyssa was happy to let them think they did, only surfacing when they weren't around.

it's usually easy to tell who's in control if you speak to her, but the sudden changes during conversation can be a little disconcerting.
