Takayanagi Masataka is a character from Tenjho Tenge. He is Aya's best friend. He can calm even the rapids.

Information
Background
Masataka is from the very famous Takayanagi family, but despite this, he doesn't have all the spoils of the family. If anything, he's received the short end of the stick because of his brother's inevitable involvement with Shin Natsume and the consequences of this involvement (his brother's near death and ousting of their father, Dougen). Masataka promised to remain by his father's side, and he did so, no matter what.
Because of this, Masataka has become a sort of an enemy of his brother Mitsuomi (a self-designated enemy). He forcibly put himself on the Juuken Bu (after stalking Maya Natsume for some time) and started training to take down Mitsuomi's enforcement group. While on the team, he formed a large crush on the captain's sister, Aya, and became fairly close friends with her. He also developed a close friendship with Bob Makihara, who joined the club upon Maya's urging (since she wished to use him and his best friend, Souichirou, to take down Mitsuomi).
Masataka has since been identified as the True Warrior by Souhaku. Nothing has come from this identification yet.
In Purgatory
Since arriving in Purgatory, he's abandoned the Juuken Bu because he was not pleased with Shin Natsume taking over the club again. Shin was the reason his family was shattered, and truthfully, Masataka is a little afraid that he'll end up wanting to become Shin's friend. As a result, he moved out of the club and currently lives with Rock Howard. He also trains him.
In the tournament, he was the runner-up to the win, being the one to take on Naruto in the final round.
