Kyon is a first year high school student who leaves behind his beliefs in time travelers, aliens, espers, and other mysterious flights of fantasy. He is just you're run of the mill, average guy who's just trying to get by in life. He realizes that he has no super powers and while he wouldn't mind being the hero he fully accepts the reality of the subjects. He's a nobody ... just a normal human being, who can't do much of anything.

Then he meets Suzumiya Haruhi, who on their first day of school stats very simply that she doesn't care about normal human beings, she only has interests in time travelers, espers, and aliens! Cynical Kyon out of curoisity alone begins to strike simple conversations with this rather eccentric girl and before he knows it gets dragged head first into her crazy world of intrigue. Unaware really, that the Haruhi plans to organize a club in order to keep her boredom down to its lowest degree ( not an easy task ). He deicedes to stick around and see what will come of it, but more so to babysit Haruhi and make sure she doesn't cause trouble for the other two innocent souls she's dragged into the club along with him. Thus the "Sekai wo Ooini Moriagerutame no Suzumiya Haruhi no Dan" or rather "Save the World by Overloading it with Fun Haruhi Suzumiya's Brigade" was formed, and Kyon's life was never the same.
