Gar is Beast Boy, and has very little need for a secret identity (even if they existed on the island). This is because he's green. His origin story involves contracting a weird monkey disease and being adopted by an African tribe, but long story short he eventually finds his way to the Teen Titans, where he did most of his best work. He has (as his name implies) the ability to transform into any animal he's seen while retaining his intellect (what there is of it to retain, as Raven might say) and ability to speak.

Gar is a shameless flirt, although he's trying to tone it down until he gets word of the job he applied for. The advantage in being Matt Murdock's assistant would be that he probably wouldn't object if Gar had to, say, stop the world from being destroyed. Also he could become a seeing eye dog at a moment's notice. Jinx has taken notice of him, as well as Raven of the Toon Titans; he's absolutely certain that they'll both admit their powerful, powerful lust for him any day now.
