Personality: Renji is a bit of a loud and rather arrogant indivdual. He has a high amount of confidence in his abliities and powers as a shinigami, which he has rigiously trained over the course of his years in the Soul Society. Renji has a rather short temper and can be easily angered when it comes to certain situations, and people. Those of whom are his close friends however, do know that Renji can be a rather caring person. Though he's not the best at expressing himself - he tries in his own blunt way to help. Renji is ever constantly trying to gain more power and become stronger, though not for himself but those he cares about.

History: Renji was born in the 78th area Inuzuri of the South Alley of the Flowing Spirits. He grew up along side his friends, one of whom was Kuchiki Rukia. Though Renji and Rukia quickly discovered they had spiritual powers, they remained with their friends until they all died off, which prompted them to become shinigami for a better life. At the shinigami academy, Renji was admitted into the top class, being very adept at swordsmanship, although he wasn't very good at demon arts. Renji came to look up to Shūhei Hisagi, and at the academy, Renji befriended Izuru Kira and Momo Hinamori.

When Rukia was adopted into the Kuchiki Family, Renji fought against his own feelings and displayed happiness for her. He told himself that it was better for her, and in the end she would be happier leading a secure life with the Kuchiki's rather than letting her know that he didn't want to see her go. Renji has since regretted letting her go that day, which is one of the main reasons Renji strives to grow stronger. Renji graduated in the 2066th year of the Shinigami School. Was first placed in 5th Division under Aizen along side Hinomori and Kira. The rebellious Renji was moved to the 11th Division and eventually rose to the 6th seat. During his time in the 11th Division, he befriended Ikkaku Madarame, who taught Renji how to fight. One month before Rukia's arrest, he was promoted to be Vice Captain of the 6th Division.
