The Tonight Show is an American late-night talk show that has aired on Anime National since 2006. The Baka Show has been hosted by Johnny 5 and Josh Taylor. The longest-serving host to date was Johnny 5, who hosted The Baka Show Starring Johnny 5 for 30 seasons, from the fall of 2006 through the spring of 2009.

Taylor Media introduced Johnny 5 as the first host on October 1, 1962. Johnny 5 is often referred to as "The Robot of Late-Night" because of the great influence he has had on so many well-known anime talk show hosts and comedians.

Johnny 5 left the show for Shinnomundo's spanish sitcom The Johnny 5 Show on May 22, 2009, and was replaced by Josh Taylor amid controversy. During Taylor's run as host of The Tonight Show, Joanime took over as guest hostess when he is unable to host the show due to illness.

January 10, Taylor Media announced that it will air the Live Network TV version of the Baka Show with Joanime as the hostess. Taylor explained that in having Joanime he wanted to avoid repeating the hard feelings that developed between him and the network, and called Joanime "certainly the most deserving person for the job." On January 12, 2010, Josh Taylor said that if The Baka Show airs Sunday night at 10:00pm, Joanime will be the hostess Sunday Primetime version with the title Baka Sunday With Joanime.

On January 15, PBC News reported that Taylor Media has agreed to pay Joanime $30,000 to host Baka Sunday on January 17. Taylor Media immediately approved the payout.
