Forum: Scrambled Broadcast Statement

From Bubblegum Wiki

On October 9th, the scrambled broadcast of Animovie, ON-ANIME, The Crayon Channel, and PLiX was hacked from TaylorSTAR's premium Pay-TV service when video encyrption measures believed to be in place on our set-top boxes failed and were unlawfully decrypted. TaylorSTAR assumes all responsibility for these failures and emphatically confirms that pirates and its partners in Japan were all responsible for this occurrence.

TaylorSTAR would like to warn to all subscribers of PliX for the disappointment caused by this unfortunate situation.

As of this time all scrambled broadcasting on Animovie, ON-ANIME, The Crayon Channel, and PLiX will be unscrambled temporarily while we continue to investigate this culprits and correct the security lapses that allowed it to occur. At this time it remains unclear if, or when the scrambled programming will resume. TaylorStar will issue a Cease-and-Desist Order to all our subscribers who were hacking and did not purchased a monthly premium service for Animovie, ON-ANIME, The Crayon Channel, and PLiX.

TaylorSTAR has announced that it will resume scrambled broadcast Animovie, ON-ANIME, The Crayon Channel, and PLiX next week.

Animovie will begin encrypted broadcast again on November 8, followed by ON-ANIME on November 13. Non-encrypted scrambled broadcast on both channels will then be followed for scheduled maintenance on the scrambled encryption broadcast equipment every Saturday at 1:58 p.m. EST.

The Crayon Channel will begin encrypted broadcast on November 10, followed by PLiX on November 17. Non-encrypted scrambled broadcast on both channels will then be followed for scheduled maintenance on the scrambled encryption broadcast equipment every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. EST.

ANN announced its streaming of Oreimo in October, followed by Togainu no Chi ~Bloody Curs~. The second episode of Oreimo was leaked on October 9, shortly after the first episode was streamed and one day before the second episode's Japanese broadcast. All scrambled broadcasts were discontinued following the leak, and ANN CEO Christopher Macdonald accepted responsibility four days later, stating that encryption signal failures led to signal piracy.

Update: Streaming time of new Oreimo episodes corrected.
