We have the unique privilege of being best friends. You may doubt this is so, but my mom knows my reluctance from a week ago. In this world, we're accustomed to disobey our parents based on personal behavior. In this time, your dad and my mom has denied and rejected our friendship because I cause terror. It seems very disturbing to our folks, but it's the truth.
