HB Journal for Aug 15, 1939

From Brackbillwiki

I got up shortly after 5 o'clock and Jane followed promptly. After a short breakfast I hastened to the mill alone & started the wheels a-turning, to get Dick's load ready.

Webster McLaughlin was at the mill all day visiting. It was surely hot but I had no strenuous work to do, only office work in the afternoon.

We put in 21 white rock chicks about 10 wks old & 1 rooster.

After supper we loaded up Romaine, Nancy, Webby & Junie Zimmerman & went over to the farm & swam & boated. We had a swell time.

We got home about nine thirty & put the chicks to bed.
