The Battle

From Aryez

Book 23 of the Marfat

23: The Battle

1. There is a constant battle, the battle between

2. good and evil. The forces of good and evil are

3. in constant opposition to each other; evil

4. cannot exist on its own for good is the true

5. and original force. Thus evil is parasitic on

6. good. All men, by their actions, choose

7. which side they serve, but let it be

8. known that good will triumph. For good

9. is the force of God, the all-powerful.

Commentary: This book establishes the fact that there is a constant battle between the forces of good (God) and evil (the Devil). People choose which side to aid, and every good action aids the good side and every evil action aids the evil side. Both sides seek to win, although for very different purposes. Aralan believes that while at times the forces may seem equal in strength (or evil seems stronger), good is the stronger force and predestined to victory. Aralan also believes that good is a force on its own and that evil is created by twisting or disrupting good and thus cannot be a force on its own and come up with anything original. An analogy can be made with light and darkness. Darkness is not an entity of its own. It is the lack of light. Light, however, is not a lack of darkness. It is something on its own. This is how it is with good and evil.
