Music of God

From Aryez

Book 36 of the Marfat

36: Music of God

1. The force of good in the Universe flows from

2. the music of God. It is a sound of endless interchanging

3. melodies woven into harmony, a sound that passes

4. into the depths and into the heights of space and time, the echo of

5. which stirs everything; when it passes into the

6. void, the void is no longer void. But against

7. this good music, the corrupted music of evil is ever

8. set [against]. For the music of good is soft and

9. sweet, a mere rippling of gentle sounds

10. in delicate melodies; but it cannot be

11. quenched and takes to itself power

12. and profundity. It has a deep, wide, and

13. beautiful tone, slow and blended with an

14. immeasurable sorrow, from which its beauty

15. chiefly arises. Whereas, the music of evil is

16. loud and vain, endless repeated with little

17. harmony, only a clamorous unison and the

18. baying of a few notes. It tries to drown

19. out the music of good by the violence of its

20. voice but its most triumphant notes are

21. taken by the music of good and woven into

22. its own solemn pattern. Such is the

23. nature of evil- uncompromising and

24. dealing only in absolutes. Listen good

25. people! Fight for truth and justice,

26. fight for what is right, make

27. martyrs of yourself for what

28. you believe in but never give up.

29. Let war be fought when war must be fought.

Commentary: This book uses music to characterize the forces of good and evil. Good is described as a soft, gentle force of love and mercy while evil is described as a loud and vain force. Evil is just a robbery and corruption of good. Furthermore, evil is clamorous and has no natural beauty. The beauty of good is that it can turn evil into good. Yet good may also be firm and strong, but it is a different kind of strength, a soft strength, just like silk is stronger than steel though it is softer and more beautiful. The book finishes with a directive telling followers of the faith to believe in their faith truly and be ready to fight for the cause to the death. Never shy away from a fight if the fight is inevitable and for the preservation of a good cause. The book also praises music. Music is beautiful and soothing. A person’s true soul comes to light when they are making music. The founder said that he could see the depths of a person’s soul when the person was making music.
