God the Vanquisher

From Aryez

Book 48 of the Marfat

48: God the Vanquisher

1. The wise one Krishna warned

2. men that their greatest enemies

3. were themselves. By not guarding their

4. thoughts and emotions, men allow

5. the words of the Devil to come into the fruition in the

6. world. Men have most to fear destruction, death

7. suffering, and their own extinction

8. from the actions of other men. For as the prophet Buddha said,

9. a person’s suffering stems from the selfishness of other men and their attachment

10. to material goods.

11. Beware the warning of Krishna!

12. Krishna said to his pupil Arjun:

13. “Whenever and wherever there is a decline

14. in religious practice, and a predominant

15. rise of irreligion, at that time,

16. God himself will take action, sometimes

17. by sending a prophet, sometimes by taking action Himself. To deliver

18. the pious and annihilate the miscreants,

19. as well as to reestablish the principles of

20. religion, God will Himself appear,

21. millennium after millennium.”

Commentary: The book states that people who do evil things should not avoid responsibility for their actions by blaming the Devil or the influence of others. After all, a person who does evil things has to allow himself to do evil things. People often stray from the path of righteousness when they are seduced by lust, money, or power. People can avoid suffering by cutting themselves off from obsessive attachments, especially to possessions. What’s the point of being attached to material goods; you can’t even take them with you to the afterlife. This does not mean one should live like a hermit. By all means, enjoy material goods, but not to the point of obsession. The book also contains the prophecy and promise of God to send forth messengers or appear Himself again and again to correct evil. Remember those who plow and sow diligently will eventually reap fine fruits while those who do not will sow and plow in their stead. Say: “I love my God so much that I will die for Him.”
