Previous characters were apart of a game prior to Arcadia. Thus a few characters, as it should be mentioned, have AU backgrounds thanks to their previous games. It should be noted that they will carry more Au and canon backgrounds to new players.

[edit] The Holy Grail

In the spring, events in Arcadia shifted radically. For those of you who are fans of Bishojo Sailormoon, you'll very much remember the struggle for the Holy Grail. After healing a badly injured Sieg Warheit (Chaos Legion), Hotaru Tomoe had shifted into her worst condition, due to the fact she was a small girl who would often struggle with her health every time paranormal or spiritual events occurred. In accordance to a seal in Hell that was broken in Methuselah, Hotaru's condition had worsen, and healing someone that was critically wounded, Hotaru soon lost control of her own body. To change in to Mistress 9, Hotaru had to devour a pure heart, and because Chibiusa was not available at the time, Hotaru had swallowed Anastasia Romanov's (Shadow Hearts: Covenant) heart and became Mistress 9.

In game, the time period was a week, but the week followed Mistress 9 mercilessly devouring pure hearts, of mainly children, as well those of noble and pure intentions -- Henry Townsend (Silent Hill 4: The Room), Penelo (Final Fantasy XII), Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII), Zaruko (Tokyo Mew Mew), Albert Steiner (Final Fantasy IX), Terra Branford (Final Fantasy V), and Kalina Ann (Devil May Cry). Unfortunately, Mistress 9 was unsucessful in her attempt to take Rei Kurosawa's (Fatal Frame 3) heart, thanks to Yuri Hyuga (Shadow Hearts) and his fusion abilities, pushing Mistress 9 back, cracking her control over Hotaru.

But in her time, Mistress 9 had left ungodly amount of hair, very much comparable to Kayako in "Ju On: The Grudge" in the way she attacked her victims and left her mark. She was also able to send daemons (much like in the anime, of course) after small children to take hearts, but demons were eventually slowly driven back when they attacked a small number of little children, thanks to Dante Sparda (Devil May Cry). Once she had deemed enough energy and pure hearts worthy enough to replace the talismans, Mistress 9 stationed herself in the Deluge Delta, in Sidhe, to open the gateway to Pharaoh 90. Because she didn't have the talismans, she had taken many hearts, and acted quickly. Leading the charge to exorcise Hotaru Tomoe was Nicolai Conrad (Shadow Hearts: Covenant), leading a team of Lady (Devil May Cry), Vergil (Devil May Cry), Veronica Vera (Shadow Hearts: Covenant), Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII), and Sieg Warheit (Chaos Legion).

The team had broken off into two forces, Veronica and Nicolai focusing on attacking Mistress 9 as she pummeled the team with daemons, and the supporters of this force were Lady, Vergil, Aerith and Sieg. Sailorpluto and Sailorneptune also joined in after it was revealed they had the talismans that Mistress 9 had demanded in order to replace the pure hearts. Two of the sailor Senshi had battled Lady and Sieg, but failed to thwart them. Hotaru had emerged halfway through the battle, allowing Nicolai to place powerful white magic spells on her, but Mistress 9 had emerged once again, when gaining slight control, poisoning Nicolai. With the last bout of the exorcism finally done, Sailorsaturn had awakened, thus destroying Mistress 9 and the daemons. Whereabouts of Nicolai and Veronica became unknown, and it became suspected of their former group, Sapientes Gladio, to have a hand in their disappearance. There Sailorsaturn informed the last remaining group before the collapse of the water filtration building at the Delta she was the only one who could destroy Pharaoh 90.

At the protests of Vergil and Lady, Sailorsaturn continued on without them. Now taking control of that situation, as Pharaoh 90 emerged from the gateway, Saturn commanded Neptune and Pluto to hold back the forces. At the last moments as Saturn arrived in the dimension where Pharaoh 90 lied, Pluto was commanded to close that dimension, sealing Saturn as she laid her "Death Reborn Revolution" attack, thus destroying that world and herself. Deluge Delta is now a crater because of what happened, and where Sailor Saturn stood while she laid her attack, the force of her attack destroying the water filtration building and the delta. Deluge Delta is now "Deluge Crater". And just like her anime and canon counterpart, Hotaru was reborn as an infant, but her growth accelerated to three months of age.
