  • The Mailan Kingdom - The beautiful and luscious Mailan Kingdom is a part of the Nameless Lands on the northern portion of the continent. Mailan is an area known for its neutrality, pacifism, and ability to avoid conflict. It is also known for its abundant natural resources and other treasures. As of late, Mailan has been a prime target for potential annexation by a number of neighboring nations.
  • The Dukedom of Melanthe - A rocky and rigid country that lies to the north of the Mailan Kingdom, the Dukedom is a nation of extremes. The wealthy and politically influential of society have all the power, whereas the lower class scrape by with what little they can afford. Indeed, the Dukedom is a society where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. As of late, Melanthe has had its eye on the natural treasures of the Mailan Kingdom to the south.
  • The Holy Kingdom of Harmonia - Harmonia is the largest nation in the world, not only by size but also by the vastness of its military and political power. Historically it is the oldest known nation in existence, officially created on the year 0 after Hikusaak defeated the Kingdom of Aronia. Hikusaak has been the head of state ever since with the aid of the Circle Rune. Thus, Hikusaak has been ruling Harmonia for the past four and a half centuries, feared by many as "The Absolute One."
  • The Grasslands - A vast expanse of grassy plains that extend from the western edge of Jowstone and Harmonia all the way to the eastern edges of Zexen. The land is claimed by no single nation, and is instead inhabited by the Six Clans and other groups. It is naturally a haven for bandits and other lawless swashbucklers, and the fact that it is a major trade route makes the bandit trade all the more attractive.
  • The Knightdom of Camaro - Camaro is a small nation governed by the Free Knights of Camaro. They have a healthy relationship with the Matilda Knights, and often send their young members to Matilda for extra training. Camaro maintains an interesting position within the Grasslands due to its lack of relations to the Six Clans. Camaro is considered by many to be more "civilized" than the members of the Six Clans.
  • The Zexen Federation - Also known as the Zexen Confederacy, the Zexen Federation is a group of states ruled by a council. Merchants have great power within the federation, which fosters trade within the nation and encourages trade with foreign countries. Zexen also has a powerful military, with the "mighty six knights" at the helm, fighting against the "barbarians" of the Grasslands.
  • The Queendom of Lyllx - The beautiful Queendom of Lyllx lies on the borders of the Grasslands, the Zexen Confederacy, and the Tattusian Empire. Lyllx is a prosperous nation in which trade and commerce abounds. However, the constant threat of attack by neighboring Tattusian forces have kept the country on edge for a very, very long time.
  • The Tattusian Empire - An Empire bordering the lands of the Lyllxian Queendom, the Grasslands, and the Tinto Republic, the Tattusian Empire, ruled by Sorcerer Inagi Ishoda, is home to the magical flying city of Tattus, as well as multiple magic academies and prestigious schools of higher learning. The Empire has been entangled in a war with neighboring Lyllx for a very long time.
  • The Tinto Republic - Tinto used to be a member of the Jowston Alliance, but decided to seek its own destiny after the Dunan Unification War. It has virtually no arable land, but generates tremendous income through mining. The Tinto mines also produce extremely rare gemstones called "Water Gems," which are necessary for various magical applications, such as the fabrication of rune crystals. The Tinto Republic has been in conflict with Grassland tribes many times in the past, and continues its campaign of aggression into the Grasslands.
  • The Toran Republic - Toran is a temperate region situated south of Dunan. This area used to belong to the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. In IS 230, a powerful aristocrat, Kranach "Knight of the Scarlet Moon" Rugner proclaimed independence from Harmonia during a civil war. The Scarlet Moon Empire was thus formed, and ruled the area for the next two centuries until Emperor Barbarossa Rugner was ousted by rebels in the Gate Rune Wars in IS 457. The area is currently ruled by the Toran Republic.
  • The Dunan Republic - Dunan is a temperate region situated north of Toran and East of the Grasslands. The Dunan Republic was originally comprised of two countries -- the City-States of Jowston and the Kingdom of Highland. In IS 460 the Mad Prince, Luca Blight, declared war on Jowston. Jowston won the Dunan Unification War and annexed Highland into its territory before abolishing the provinces it was once divided into and creating a united country.
  • The Island Nations Federation - The Island Nations Federation (often simply referred to as the "Island Nations") is a political and military alliance of the small island countries that lie south of the Toran Republic and north of the Queendom of Falena which is a seperate landmass. The people here are said to be great sailors, and voyage far to trade various goods.
  • The Queendom of Falena - Falena is located on a continent south of the Island Nations. It is separated into regions by its main geographical feature, the Feitas River, which is used as the easiest method of traversing the Queendom. It is surrounded by mysterious countries such as its oft-enemy, Armes, and Nagarea, of which little is known.
  • Black Dragon Island - This small island south of the Grasslands is ruled by the Black Dragon Clan with an iron fist under the rule of "Black Tortoise" Jinkai. The Black Dragon Clan is a clan of die-hard chefs in search of the ultimate recipe.
  • The Nagarean Theocracy - Located on the southern continent, Nagarea is south-southwest of Falena. It was founded by the Nagarist Order a long time ago, who united a group of small nations under its banner. Nagarists believe that dragon-horses are foul creatures and must be cleansed from the world. This, combined with the new nation's thirst for power, Nagarea sent an 'armed missionary group' (army) into the area of the dragon-horse people, which is conveniently the closest area of Falena to Nagarea. However, a force consisting of both the fierce dragon-horse fighters, and the Falenan Queendom's Army repulsed the Nagareans.
  • The Nameless Lands - The Nameless Lands is the name given to the nations that lie north of Zexen. Not much is known about this area, other than the fact that Boris Wizen attended an academy there, which suggests that sophisticated civilizations exist in the area.
  • The Westlands - A term referring simply to civilizations lying on the western continent of the world. Very little is known about the Westlands.
  • Kanakan - Kanakan is a place that exists just south/southeast of Toran. It is said to be a warm place and is well known for its high quality liquor. Roundier Haia, who is Valeria and Anita's master in Falcon style fencing resides here. Former gladiator turned swordmaster Belcoot also spent several years in Kanakan prior to returning to the Queendom of Falena and participating in the Sacred Games. It is also said that a Sindar ruin lies hidden in Kanakan.
  • Katana - Katana is the nickname of a mysterious country, of which very little is known, not even its real name. Its chief exports include katanas and katana-wielding fighters, namely Genshu and Hazuki.
  • The New Armes Kingdom - A moderately powerful country on the Southern Continent, boarded by the Falena Queendom to the west and sharing an ocean boundary with both Falena and the Island Nations Federation at the Strait of Scardi.
