The planet Vewaa was discovered by intrepid Keldon explorers in the early days of Keldon space exploration. Having long dazzled Keldon astronomers, the Vewaan Nebula and adjacent energy fields were a natural target for exploration, but no one expected to find such a lush M-class planet in the midst of the dazzling lightshow. In the Keldon language, “Vewaa” loosely translates as “hidden jewel.”

Today, the planet Vewaa is far from hidden. It’s a thriving tourist destination and economic hub positioned midway between planet Keldana I and the Ska’ri Core cluster. The planet’s economy is heavily dependant on the nearby Vewaan Nebula which provides an endless source of cheap nebula gas and chemicals which in turn supply the sector’s medical, brewing and plastics industries.

Vewaa is the headquarters of Empire branch of the Freeholders Alliance (FHA) trading conglomerate. The FHA have established military outposts to protect the sector as well as its neighbors -- Exackan and Wolf. As a result, piracy has been all but eliminated; the greatest danger you’ll likely encounter in Vewaa is one of the bio scavengers which are endemic to the system.

In November 2005, Vewaa’s industry did come under attack by certain nefarious elements of the M.E.R.C. alliance. However, the combined resources of FHA and a show of force at M.E.R.C. homeworld frontiers were more than enough to repel the assault by the neutral zone ne’er-do-wells.
