A small and remote sector devoid of significant resources, PJ 3373 was long ignored by settlers and traders. However, all that changed one day when the wreckage of a Rashkiran deep space expedition, apparently destroyed by wormhole anomaly, was discovered by the occasional pirates and smugglers passing through the sector. The pirates and smugglers saw little importance to the wreckage, save lucrative salvages. However, as these salvages found their ways into the core worlds, the Human government realized the implication of a hidden route into Rashkiran space via PJ 3373, and promptly launched an exploratory taskforce to ascertain the possibility. The result was the discovery of a route leading to Alioth via Pass FED-04, a link between the two clusters. Since then, PJ 3373 has seen greatly increasing traffic, and while still unworthy of settling, a permanent military outpost was established to monitor and safeguard this vital passageway, giving this otherwise insignificant sector an uneasy military presence
