Leave Me a Note HERE

I'll be gone for a week, so try not to have too much fun kids. --Tucana25 08:21, 23 May 2007 (EDT)

Alright I've updated the list. You, Fin, myself and AJF (for the next hour) are all active. So at least 2 of us have to vote. I really don't see that being an issue now. Course that being said I think I'm going to have to reread your proposal and figure out if I like it now. --Dayd 09:35, 31 January 2007 (EST)

Oh and PS I'm right there with you on the getting rid of the Proposals page. There's nothing in the rules that say we have to keep it so I suggest we just let it fade out of its own accord and just use the main page. "The debate period can be cut short by the proposer with the calling for of a vote" :) I'd say that trumps the 24 hour clause. Obviously something we might need to fix...or better yet not fix...since debate is simply an advantage given to the proposer to fix the rule so that it passes. And with that I'm going to bed I got class in 9:30 hours --Dayd 01:43, 22 January 2007 (EST)

374 That ASAP enough for you? --Dayd 01:29, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Yeah I just saw that 324 was still up too and then it wasn't because you got to it before I did. --Dayd 23:35, 21 January 2007 (EST)

I was going to repeal it and then I said to myself: self didn't that already happen? Is there a penalty for repealing rules that are now just a figment of my imagination? --Tucana25 23:54, 21 January 2007 (EST)

Chuck comment on a proposal that he lost his password and logged in under his IP address and signed his name to a post without his timestamp. So arguably since he wasn't logged in the player wasn't really playing and therefore chuck didn't really comment in the last 2 weeks and therefore he is inactive. --Dayd 00:04, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Ahh...I remember now... --Tucana25 00:21, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Thanks for the vote; my power went out during a thunderstorm last night (when I was planning to get around to voting for myself and for you) and I thought we were going to be stuck without a Scorekeeper. Now I just need to figure out all of the points that are missing. Wooble 07:26, 2 April 2007 (EDT)

Busy

I'll be around here more in a few weeks...I'm in the midst of Heavy Duty Snowboarding season right now: teaching all day sat & sun in addition to working M-Th. I only have 3 more sundays until I have that extra day off. --Tucana25 23:54, 21 January 2007 (EST)

Newsletter

Tucana25; in response to your suggestions, I think a bi-weekly cooperative effort would be better than alternating. The other option that occured to me was to do a 'rolling news' page, like the front page of a newspaper, which could change fairly frequently as things happened. On top of that we could have bi-weekly or monthly overview. Anyway, i shall be happy to help out with contributions, editorials, editing, proof-reading, layout, whatever...

Another good thing to do would be to set up a page to which anybody can contribute 'opinions', or a 'letters to the editor' page, so that all players have the chance to contribute. If you choose a deadline for the next edition (a week or two should do) then we can see if anybody wants to submit anything. Finally, we could get a proposal out there to formalise the position of editor as a semi-permanent commitment. So there's my thoughts. Pending feedback from yourself, I'll probably start implementing one or other of these ideas in a day or two. --Finisterre 14:04, 1 January 2007 (EST) Hey T25, Looking pretty good so far. Here's the answers:

Dear Mr Editor, as you've seen I've started work on the new edition (1/2/1) which should be ready for press on the 22nd. If its okay with you I'll work on formatting it solo, as I need the practise manipulating wiki-code, but anything you want included let me have. My e-mail is on my User Page if you need to get anything to me. I'll get a final draft 'on your desk' by the 20th. --Finisterre 06:04, 15 January 2007 (EST)

Hope to have a Newsletter out sometime soon... --Tucana25 23:54, 21 January 2007 (EST)

Formatting Topics

I am totally on board with not copy&pasting on the proposals thing...totally am for that. Thanks for the suggestions...I would like to learn a little more about how to space things and create header looking things...right now it is all experimentation which is difficult. Is there a wiki-edit website you recommend or a place somewhere on the site... --Tucana25 08:18, 8 December 2006 (EST)

The best place to go to learn how to wiki-edit is http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Contents Also check out Wikipedia. The coolest stuff is accessable from their community portal. If you see a style that you find nice, then go to the edit tab on that page and see what the source code is. Be careful not to change anything there unless you have some relavent info. If you're looking for a place here to use as a testing grounds then use the Nomicapolis namespace like so: [[Nomicapolis:Page name here]]. --Simulacrum 04:29, 9 December 2006 (EST)
  • About external linking: Instead of a verical bar ie | use a space like so: [http://www.microsoft.com/ Microsoft] This makes Microsoft
  • Regarding the main page: I think that there is a better way of updating instead of copy and pasting the proposals text we could include it as a template. This is something that I wanted to do with the all rules page but I haven't found the time. ...I have edited the your version of the main page to show you what I am talking about. Now whenever the proposals page is changed it is automatically updated on your variant. By the way, I like the new format.
  • Now about the newsletter: I see no problem with how you are doing it. I admit the way that I did was very time consuming. I suggest that older news get placed in the archive, maybe on a weekly basis. Along those lines the article about the new player Mike should have had a more recent date in the title. Now some style suggestions: First off, start the article with top level heading. This is to get the archive to list the article better later on. Also, see how I signed my articles? I think it would look cool for it to look like a real newpaper article complete with by-line. Now regarding the main text of the article, it would be great to supply useful tidbits about the subject. I know that since Mike has not gotten around to creating a user page yet there's not much to go on. Here's how I would have written it:
Another player has come on-board recently. A player of true mystery. Mike Rosoft has been added to the census making the total player count reach 15! After registering this player has been busy by voting for 334, against 341, commenting on 350 and cleaning up the proposals page.
