Gameplay

This game is very different from the Smash Bros series and most Mario Wiki based fighting games. It is played from an isometric viewpoint, like Sonic Battle, Power Stone, or Custom Robo. The life system is also very different. Instead of the Smash Bros life system, it uses a basic life system where each character starts with 100 Hit Points, and dies when there HP hits zero.

Jumping

The other main difference is jumping. Jumping is not handeled tradionally. After jumping, you quickly decellerate and begin to gently float, slowly falling back to the ground. No attacks work in the air, except special and an aerial dash move. You can also land immediatly at any time by pressing B. A major fighting tactic is to jump, dash, land, and then attack before the opponent can react. The aerial dash is done by pressing A while pointing the control stick in the direction you wish too go.

Barriers

Barriers are also handled differently. Barriers stay up for only about a second or two, and every time you use them, you're barrier energy depletes. Barrier energy has no way to be recovered, so you have to use barriers wisely. Barriers are impenatrable by all but the most powerfull of attacks, but you cannot move with a barrier up.

Energy and Specials

Another main gameplay concept is energy. By shaking the Wii Remote, you fill up an energy meter. If there is any energy in this meter, and you attack, the meter will empty completly, but the damage that your attack does will increase other the normal.

Specials are easy to perform, you just have too press the Z button. However, after performing a special, you have to wait 15 seconds before performing another, and you will not get as much money if you use specials alot, so use them sparingly and wisely. The best time to use a special is a defining moment in the match, such as when you and your opponent only have a small amount of health left. Also, specials always take energy, so they cannot be performed if the energy meter is empty.

Specials can be performed in the air, or on the ground, and every character has both an aerial special and a ground-based special.

Moves, Controls, and Combos

The control system is pretty basic. The control stick moves, A and B perform basic attacks, Z performs a special attack, C puts up a barrier. Every character has two basic attacks, one mapped to A, and one mapped to B. An aerial dash is performed by pressing A while holding the control stick in the direction you want to go in.

Combos

By using combinations of the A and B buttons with movements of the control stick, you can perform combo moves. There is a variety of combo moves that every character can use, but the best and most complicated combos are "Signature Combos". Also, these Sinature Combos, if performed correctly, can be lead into very powerfull special moves called "Finales". For a short time after a Signature Combo is performed, the character that performed it will be glowing, during this time you can perform a Finale. Also, after performing a Signature Combo or Finale, you have to wait 45 seconds before performing another Signature Combo. Each character has one Signature Combo and one Finale, and only they can use those moves.

List of Combo Moves

NOTE: Signature Combos and Finales are listed in the characters section.

  • Uppercut: The most basic combo move, it is performed by moving the Control Stick backwards, while pressing A and B. It propels the character on the recieving end into the air, how high the character flys is determined by how much energy the character performing the attack has.

More will come eventually.
