Gamerdisclaimer.com & Stranglethorn Fever

Website

On 21 November 2005 un-mediocre created the forum for gamerdisclaimer.com, this was before he released Murloc RPG onto Newgrounds so the site did not gain many members until March of 2006 when he released the first edition of the series.

The forums reached over 25,000 users, many only signed up to play Stranglethorn Fever for awhile, though.

A rather common occurrence on the website is down-time. Active members of the forums can often have to wait for hours to connect due to high bandwidth, or previously, an error in the phpBB forum system. Before the switch to vBulletin, the website was completely down for about a week, causing many regular users to stop coming to the forums at all.

Murloc RPG v1.2

Relatively soon after Murloc RPG came out, un-mediocre revealed version 1.2 of the game, Murloc RPG: Stranglethorn Fever. In this update, the player is able to level up past level 10 and a new areas were added for players to explore. These areas included Stranglethorn Vale, Zul'Gurub, and players are also able to fight very strong NPCs in the Gurubashi Arena. However, despite these new areas, there was not a continuation of the current storyline or the creation of another.

In version 1.2, damage rates were increased, making fights much more easier than the original version, in which it took a considerable amount of time. Also, until late April of 2007, players of the game who were active in the forums earned gold to use in a "shop" to buy items for their murlocs in the flash game. These items could be bought on the forums only to be put in the game, none are found in the game alone (Worn Dagger is an exception to this rule, it is a 1-2 Damage dagger given to the player before the first real quest). Since the forum was moved from phpBB to a more stable system using vBulletin, users do not gain gold on the forum and there is not currently a shop to purchase items for Murloc RPG.

Upon reaching level 10, a player's murloc can go through the portal on the eastern edge of Elwynn Forest and exit in Stranglethorn Vale, a jungle full of tigers and apes. The Vale is also home to the Gurubashi Arena, where the strongest beings in Azeroth fight each other to defend or gain a reputation, and Zul'Gurub, an ancient troll city currently being run by the blood god, Hakkar The Soulflayer.

A player can reach any level in Stranglethorn Fever, but because rates increase extremely fast ( X 1.45 the amount of experience needed to reach current level), many players stop in their low to mid twenties. Many people have hacked the game, including an individual known only as "mainman" who is the illegitimate Grand Master of the arena at level 77 (FYI: 253,297,068,335,115 (~253.3 trillion) experience is needed to get from level 76 to 77) The highest legitimate level attained is 37, which was reached by a murloc played by BreakIt, the senior moderator of Gamer-Disclaimer's IRC chatroom.
