With a manor of this size, most of the rooms have a connected intercom. I mean, it's just not feasible shouting for each other down the hallways.
You remember back fondly to the early days when you and your sisters used to play spy with the intercoms, or hide and seek, or any of the simple little things that amused kids. Of simpler times.
Nevertheless, you reach over to the side of your four poster bed and press the intercom.
