Chapter 4: It's too risky, Amida
"I'm sorry, Amida. The Duke's fortress is just too well defended. I doubt it is possible to sneak in far enough to take the dildo, and if I joined his harem of slaves I'd never get out again. Five thousand gold is a lot of money, but I doubt it's possible even for me."
"I'm sorry you feel that way. I've spent my life thinking you were the best."
"I must go, Amida. Perhaps our paths will cross again." Without making another sound, you turn and jump onto one of the tapestry curtains, and climb back up to the rooftop door. You quickly clamber out into the night, again just another shadow in the night.
Well, now it's time to make a choice. First, you may choose to stay in Tanisor. You've already completed the mission for which you came here in the first place, which earned you a particularly strong magical dagger that, when thrown, will return to the owner after hitting its target. You could try to steal the magic dildo on your own - you wouldn't want to take payment from a friend if you planned to keep the dildo. Furthermore, if Amida is rich enough to pay you five thousand gold, then she might just be rich enough to make you regret not taking her mission.
On the other hand, you can choose to leave. There is a lot of experience to be gained in the outside world, with several ruins littered about the area you might just be able to find some worthwhile adventure there. However, Tanisor is easily the largest city for miles, and there would be less opportunities for thieves in the smaller towns, and you would be less readily accepted there.
