My stomach grumbled and I knew I would need to satisfy my hunger. I got in the car and drove to the center of town. I wasn't really in the mood for a burger, and I saw a Panera Bread, so I decided to pull in there. I ordered a half sandwich and a cup of soup and sat down at a corner table.
As I was eating, I turned to people watching. It seemed like Panera was aimed directly at my new demographic, nearly everyone in the restaurant was a girl who seemed to be my age and even dressed similarly. The only guys here were with a girl of my age. I pulled out my phone and stared at the text message from Lauren. For the first time I wondered how Lauren pulled off being in my body. Did she also end up in the hospital. What did Jess think?
After ruminating for a while I saw the clock, and realized I must be going. I threw out my trash, grabbed my belongings and went back to the parking lot. After about 20 minutes of driving, I had arrived on my street.
