“Only one for me too,” you say as you toss the unwanted eight into the pile.
Lin mumbles, “Three,” as she deals out everyone’s cards.
Your fears about Claire’s hand are justified when she says, “I got my straight.” However, you see only disappointment when you look at the card you received and see a lonely heart – one that doesn’t even give you a pair.
Lin perks up when she sees your worthless hand, knowing that the pair of kings she reveals is enough to keep her safe this hand.
“Guess it’s my turn,” you say to the girls, Lin in particular. You pull your shirt up over your head, making a show of pulling your arms out, and then dropping the shirt in pile next to you. “Feels good to be topless,” you say to nobody in particular.
“Hope you think it’s good to be bottomless too,” Claire says as she gathers up the cards. “Because that’s where you’re headed.”
