Weather

From Cod

Surprisingly violent weather systems blow over the Cleft with alarming frequency. They always originate from off the edges of the map. Weather systems vary in size, some of them being as large as entire continents. Each weather system brings with it a certain degree of windiness and precipitation. Each weather system has its own velocity. Usually, a weather system will travel in a straight line, but it is possible for them to change directions as well. Weather systems do not dissipate until they have crossed the edge of the map.

What would be a good way to rationalize this weather phenomenon?

There's a big part of earthly weather than we don't have much mention of in the Cleft: temperature! I imagine they're just not factored into the weather system but probably do exist.

Also on the topic of weather though is climate zones. Which areas of the Cleft are warmer, which are cooler? Northerly areas seem to be cooler than the more southern ones, but the southern edge of Fa'Diel is neither tundra nor tropical. Where's the equator? Is it much further south than any of our areas? Does it slice through the middle of Fa'Diel? Is there even one or the equivalent of one?
