Neon Genesis Evangelion is this show where we learn that you can be a total pansy for an entire series yet be applauded at the end for simply discovering that life doesn't totally suck. This is very inspirational to the hordes of dysfunctional adolescent loners who grew up thinking that Neon Genesis Evangelion was the best show ever. Eva fans scream in protest every time the live action movie is brought up, it could be made by GOD himself but it still wouldn't be good enough, cause everyone knows that Stanley Kubrick is the only person who could do it justice, and he's dead...so f*ck it.

  • It should be noted that everything is a rip-off of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Example: "Akira is a total rip-off of Eva."
  • Including Neon Genesis Evangelion itself.
  • It's fairly well accepted that FLCL is the real Evangelion, and the other Evangelion is just you being a little emo bitch

This show is also known for creating one of the greatest debates in all of anime history: "Asuka, Rei, or Misato?" For some time, one was lucky to go a day on AD without finding at least one new thread devoted to this topic. This was resolved by the creation of the Evangelion Nerd Club, which resulted in roughly 582985^3 pages devoted solely to the discussion of this, Kawarou's sexual orientation and the joys of thermal expansion.

  • Shinji- Whiney EMO kid.
  • Asuka- Resident bitch.
  • Rei- Teh Smex.
  • Misato- Is there for people who aren't attracted to 14 year old girls. Which is like 20% of the people who watch NGE.
  • Gendo- Irrelevant!
  • Kaji- Resident pimp. The show might have been better if he'd stuck around longer.
  • Ritsuko- Nobody loves her;is being plowed by Gendo through out the series.
  • Maya- Resident Lezzy.
  • Hyuga- Has teh crush on Misato.
  • Aoba- Plays a mean air guitar. Also has the most hilariously awesome dub in the End of Evangelion movie (which lamentably will never be shown on AS because of boobies and stuff).
  • Kawarou- A gay angel.
  • Toji- is squishable.
  • Hiraki- Likes Toji.
  • Kensuke- Nerd who carries a camera.
  • The Evas- Big bad mechs who have to try to save the world in approximately two minutes before their juice runs out.
  • Pen Pen- Shinji's roomie, who just happens to be a penguin; also, the single best character in the whole bloody show. He wears a rocket pack.
  • Jesus Christ- Not really in NGE but based on how good some fans say the series is, You could swear he had to be in it.
