  • Bleach Ep. 24 - So, apparently cannonballin' over is harder than it seems because of small thing called a force-field. The solution? Using your spirit energy to make a small ball force-field to punch though that force-field and enter the city so that they can save Rukia. Ok, seems easy...unless you're Ichigo and you don't know jack squat on using your spirit energy. At least he got it in the end, and everyone is set for lift-off. Either than that, there's some weird conspiracy forming between all the people who are involved in each Squad...and I can't tell what it is right now, because it's deeper than what you think it would be...
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 43 - Hey, what the hell are Eureka, Renton, and the kids doing? I thought they were supposed to go save humanity, not to go on some tropical vacation. But hell, they don't know what to do. I wouldn't know what to do...they knew how to do everything to reached the Promised Land, but not what to do once they reached the Promised Land. Meanwhile, back on top the Gekko crew have a new plan to kick some, taking the battle to space and landing Holland a new ride called the **bleep** **bleep**. And Dominic tries to get some from Anemone...but gets rejected badly. Then Anemone goes ballin' with Dewey, while Dominic is sent to Warsaw to find a replacement for Anemone. Speaking of Dewey, now we all know why he's a douchebag. Come on, you got rejected - by the land, of all things - for killing your own father. Did you think that what you did would be the equilizer? I bet you that Holland gave you a few encouraging words when your house got torn down...more like "Thanks a lot, fuck you."
  • Eiken - So, with Ep. 24 of Bleach airing, we see a small glimpse of Matsuomoto, a character that makes Orihime look small in comparision. That, along with Kuukaku and Orihime herself, we got some stacked girls. I kind of jumped the gun with the "Eiken > Bleach" thread, in which I point out that if you think they were stacked, go watch Eiken. Yes, Eiken's girls put everyone else in all anime (I think) to shame, and yes the story is that bad, but I thought there would threads on "ZOMG [insert Bleach character's name here]!!!" All that thread was was a rebuttal for any argument that would arise from these episodes. Maybe I should bring this back when more Bleach gals enter the picture.
  • March Madness - I can sense Selection Sunday coming...in a week. Yes, it's that time of year again - March Madness. A time when everyone in America stops doing everything and huddle around the TV/Computer, pulling out all those brackets and putting a ton of red ink on your paper. I've already created an [as] Tournament Pick 'Em group, can you find that thread - as well as a link to the site itself - in my sig. The only problem is that I'll be at a convention that Sunday, and prior to that Sunday I've always been home, watching the Selection Show, inking in all the teams in each bracket, then hanging it somewhere so that I can update it after each day of action. I will put an analysis of the seeding next week.

3/11

  • Bleach Ep. 25 - I wasn't able to catch all of Bleach Saturday night, but from the parts I saw it was evident: they got fired out of that cannon, had some drama along the way, and broke though the barrier. And, everyone has taken notice of these "intruders." That's all I needed to know.
  • Blood+ Ep. 1 - O.M.G. That is one of the best intros I've seen in a real long time. I mean blood, blood, and more blood. It was a blood-fest in that first scene. And then, somehow, they transitioned towards the present, where the same girl, Saya, is living a normal life. It reminded me of The Incredibles...you fight, disappear, and then you come back again. But some crazy **bleep**'s about to go down, and that cello dude is the one to bring her back to her sword-swaying ways. I can't wait to see how this plays out. Of course, I am hooked and reeled on this series, and let's just hope it'll be a good ride.
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 44 - An interesting episode indeed, ranging from Eureka going mad (and Maurice if you haven't noticed) to Dominic not finding Anemone's replacement. I think that single scene made me want to throw up like him; I don't blame him for doing just that. It's errie similar to other forms of human experimentation that we've learned in history class and ones that are banned by international law. Thank god for those, I would be sick if I hear someone in the world is doing that. But going back to Eureka...hey, she's glowing - green! And of course, more drama ensures between Renton, Eureka, and those **bleep** kids who are somehow quickly growing up in this episode of Survivor: Earth. Let's wait and see how that last scene will play out next week.
  • Bracketology - Yes, it is time of year...for Bracketology, Burning-style. Today, the field was set for 65 teams to do battle across the nation, played out in the next three weeks. I don't mind the 4 #1 seeds - Kansas, North Carolina, Florida, and Ohio State, but there are some bad snubs and bad additions to the tourney. First off, who in the hell let Duke play? They had a sub-.500 conference season and got bounced out in the first round of the ACC tourney, but a 6 seed? I could of seen them lower, but hey I'm not the one making the decisions. There are a lot of good teams out - Syracuse, Air Force, West Virginia, and others. But so far, I'm liking the field - and the match-ups that could eventually come...

3/18

  • Bleach Ep. 26 - With a new OP/ED, Bleach has offically entered the kick-**bleep** portion of the program because you know that something's gonna happen now that everyone's in town. Of course, they're all seperated, so at some point they're gonna get back together (and yes, this does prove that this is the worst game of Tag EVER!!!). But for now, let's enjoy the fights inlcuding Ichigo/Ikkaku which could get very intersting seeing how Ichigo keeps getting **bleep**ed up and he still wants to fight. I wonder if Ikkaku really knows who Ichigo is...one bad-**bleep** **bleep** sub Soul Reaper who's hellbent on saving Rukia from a Saddam death.
  • Blood+ Ep. 2 - Guess who's back, back again, Saya's back, tell a friend...well, for about 5 minutes. Once she had that kiss by chello dude, and she got that sick katana, she was Kobe Bryant scoring 81 unstoppable. Did you see the way she sliced that ugly-looking thing like a knife through hot butter? I think we were all like "**bleep**!" But after that, it goes back into it's "slow mode," bascially picking up the plot and advancing it...and personally, I find it good like that because they evenly space things out so that bascially everything happens in the episode (action, plot advancement, and some drama).
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 45 - First things first: Maurice, put the gun down. From the looks of it, did you load it? Odds are, either Renton loaded it the episode before or Holland had it preloaded before stowed away in the Nirvash. I thought for a second it was going to be Lord of the Flies all over again, but in the end Maurice put the rifle down and wasn't charged for attempted murder. In other news, Stoner's story about everything is spreading throughout the land, grabbing the attention of just about everyone - including Jurgens and Dominic, who decide to rebell against Dewey's bastardness and the Loli Squad of Death. Of course, Dominic had to talk his **bleep** off just to impress the Gekko crew, and I think he did...wait, did you just say that you loved Anemone? Oh, and one more thing (and this is directed towards Renton): "Throw some dirt on it."
  • March Madness, Week 1 - With the end of Week 1 of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the field has been trimmed from 65 to 16. The Sweet 16 teams are: Florida, Butler, Oregon, UNLV, Kansas, Southern Illinois, Pittsburgh, UCLA, North Carolina, USC, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Memphis. Out of those 16, UNLV, USC, and Vanderbilt stand out...the others don't suprise me. As for Week 1 itself, there were a ton of storylines, like Duke losing in the 1st round to VCU, and Wintrop winning over Notre Dame...and that's about it when it comes to upsets (in the first round). There weren't as many Sweet 16 upsets as we thought there would be (I had Illinois and George Washington both going to the Sweet 16, both double-digit seeds) but there were some very good games, including a few OT games and one double OT game that was a ton of fun to watch. As for my brakets, 2 of the 4 that I had went boom when Wisconsin and Texas lost today, but the other two are sitting pretty (assuming everything goes well and Florida goes out and wins it all). Let's all pray that they go our way...

3/25

  • Bleach Ep. 27 - Like I said, it's getting to the kick-**bleep** portion of the show, and it shows in the second half of the Ichigo/Ikkaku fight. It was really interesting for me to see that Ichigo could talk so much, yet back it up when the time came. At this point, we don't really know Ichigo's true potential (even if you've seen the subs...well, I'm not sure on that), not even Ichigo himself. Either than that, it's more running around, and more adventures with everyone else as they try to get back together. My money's on them to get back together by Ep. 30.
  • Blood+ Ep. 3 - Back to where it all began...with a naked chick in a rainstorm, and one scared dude with a 9. Yeah, that's how Saya was found, after dishing damage in Vietnam, she decided to camp out in Japan and stay low for about 30 years. Of course, she's back now because at this point, everyone is after her, including an organization that wants her to do battle...like what she did back in 'Nam. But, that guy died about 2 minutes later, so there won't be more information until later episodes about this organization. Unfortunately, daddy tried to help and he got slashed before homeboy changed back and ran off. At this point, everyone thinks he's dead. Can be dead from that blow? It wasn't like he was sliced in half or he lost a limb or anything.
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 46 - Ah yes, Planet Rock. I was hoping for the actual song to play during the episode, but hey you can't wish for anything. I wanted to break down Eureka for a bit. She finally broke through after 46 episodes, a new arm and some wings (and BTW, can someone get her to do some Red Bull commericals?), and a whole lot of crazy **bleep**, finally telling Renton that she loved him and that she wanted to stay with him forever. Renton broke through in Ep. 1, so it was natural for her to do that same..at the end of the series. Meanwhile, back up in normal land, the Gekko and the Izumo break off from the military, while the military is staging one big-**bleep** attack on the Central Nerve Cluster because if you blow that thing up, we're all dead. The whole entire "13,000 vs. 2" just screams 300, but hey, this episode aired a year ago...before 300 was released. One more thing: with every episode, we just want to kill that mother**bleep**er named Dewey and his Loli Squad of Death.
  • March Madness, Week 2 - The Final Four is set. The teams are: Florida, UCLA, Georgetown, and Ohio State. Yes, North Carolina is not in the Final Four, after that 15-3 blowout in OT, and Florida's chances of repeating are looking better and better. What suprised me the most was that Memphis got back to the Elite 8 after beating Texas A&M (a team mostly everyone had going to the Final Four), yet didn't reach the Four after being beat by Ohio State. There was that talk of "We can play with the big boys," but I think that soft schedule and a soft conference got to them...at this point. Maybe they should switch conferences and let's see them go 30 games in a row in the Big Ten or the SEC.
  • [as] pick ups - With E7 ending soon, any speculate that something new would be picked up to fill the slot. I can say this: they won't be. If anything (and it has been confirmed by schedule changes), there will be reruns. But, this does open the door for a show to debut in the fall of '07. Again, speculation over what series will air. Will it be the popular manga series-turned-anime series Death Note? Will Black Lagoon have the same impact Cowboy Bebop had for [as]? Does God have anything to do with The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya getting on [as] come fall? We can guess and guess and guess all we want, but in reality they will pick from those three shows. Because all three of these shows are hot properties in Japan, and already have a growing fanbase all across the globe.

  • [as] April Fool's Weekend - Yes, it's that time of year again, a time when [as] goes out and **bleep**s with all the fans. Unfortunately, some fans take their shows more seriously than others. For Saturday, all of the action block was pre-empted by a PHF marathon, complete with a new episodes, really bad subtitles, and really bad video quality - it's a paraody of anime and the bad fansubs that exist in this world. Yes, [as] did air the ATHF:MMFT...for the first 5 minutes. After that, the movie played on a small screen in the bottom left corner of the screen. When I saw that, I was just cracking up at the sight of all that. I also loved the whole "PHF Hong Kong bootleg style" and that got me some laughs. But like I said, there are some of us that take the shows very seriously...and like what everyone said, that's what they wanted to see. They know that anime fans are proud of their series, very loud and vocal, and are...well, serious. And they knew that when they aired PHF in lieu of new episodes, they would flood the boards and complain like hell. And then those fans tried to fire back with the AHTF:MMFT prank, trying to pit revenge for Saturday...when everyone was laughing and enjoying [as] that day. One more thing: the episodes will air next week. Just in case you forgot.
  • NCAA Men's Final Four - I thought it would never happen since Duke did it back in the 90s, but Florida won today to repeat as National Champions of the Men's College Basketball world, beating Ohio State 84-75, and concluding the madness that is March...in April. As for the brackets, I got 3rd in the [as] Tournament Pick 'Em but all the others bombed...so at least I got one close. At this point, you might ask: 3-peat? If only they brought back all 5 of their starters - again. And for all we know, that's not going to happen - they're going to the NBA and all the money they'll get.
  • Cosplay - I decided my plans for cosplaying at Fanime. Yes, it's from Ouran High School Host Club. Why? Because they got the spiffiest jackets I've seen outside of The Men's Warehouse...if we can compare the uniforms to something I could buy at The Men's Warehouse. But I have a scheme to pace myself from all the other Ouran cosplayers - I'll be wearing a hat, the same color as the uniform. I'll also have some studio headphones to wear around, making me more like a normal student than one of the main characters. Besides, I DO NOT LOOK NOTHING LIKE THEM. If I did, I would be cosplaying as one of them. I also have a good backstory, but that's for another time...

  • Bleach Ep. 28 & Blood+ Ep. 4 - I told myself last week that I would watch these two episodes after watching the craziness that was [as] April Fools Weekend...and I didn't. I was busy that night, something that people are on Saturday night...which means I didn't watch those episodes. Thank goodness Bleach is still young, and as long anything dramatic happened, I'll be fine. I might have to ask around for Blood+ or catch up somewhere else, because I'm wondering if the dad is dead.
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 47 - Holy crap, it's Diane! No, seriously, it's her and she's speaking out to Renton representing the Scubs that invaded the Earth 10,000 years ago and made the Mars Terraforming Project a quick reality (a Gundam Wing reference, if I can squeeze one in). But hey, all the Scubs want to do is be friends with humans, but there's a problem when the only thing the Scubs can do is fuse with every single **bleep** thing in existence in order to say "Hey, we want to talk (but instead we'll absorb you)." I really like though how Renton mans up and tries to do his best to make light of the situation and his objective that was put in place in order to save the planet. However, Dewey has other plans. He has that huge cannon aimed right in the dead center of it all, and he's just sitting there waiting for it to happen. But first, he has to push the big red button...oh wait, he already did? ...**bleep**. But seriously though, we all better hang on, because we've reached the top and from there it's one trillride to the finish.
  • Spring Break - For many of us, it's the timely tradition in the first few weeks of Spring - no school, parties everyday, spending hard-earned money down in Mexico going stupid in front of MTV. Yes, it's Spring Break, and I did none of that? So, what did I do? Well, for one I prepared for Fanime by ordering my cosplay costume and doing some scouting...in April. I also caught up on school work, and of course, got lots of rest. Speaking of Fanime...
  • Crazy idea, but it could work - I had this crazy dream where I had my video camera at Fanime, and I decided to do Burning live at Fanime, posted it on YouTube, and then posted the link on the boards. Everyone was so shocked to see that I did the first ever HeeroYuy135 is Burning video podcast from Fanime! Then, from that point, I did podcasts instead of just typing them up like I do now. Now, I don't have the knack ability to do podcasts like the one I dreamed of, but hey some software and a mic should do the trick. As for the video podcast from Fanime, I don't know...

4/15

  • Blood+ Ep. 5 - The only thing I got out of this episode this week as that: a) dad's still alive, b) dad got taken away by some evil organization, c) dad's being held in some research facility in a place you'd least expect, and d) Saya, cello dude (Yes, I know his name is Hige, but for my purposes I'm gonna call him cello dude), and some other people are going in. Either than that, it was a set-up episode to what could explode next week.
  • Bleach Ep. 29 - I must of missed something big last week, but Ishida just turned from badass to uber badass. Seriously, you do not want to meet this guy in an alleyway; he'd kick your **bleep** before you even did anything. I felt sorry for that big guy, he plainly got **bleep**ed up. Meanwhile, Ichigo gets some help from lower-ups, apparently armed with information on the location of Rukia, who I haven't talked about since I last saw her. And yes, Ichigo and Renji will meet up for the first time and clash some heads...next week.
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 48 - Don't get me started on this episode...in fact, I'll come back to this later.
  • Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 1 & 2 - So, in order to understand what my own character is (I really don't plan on cosplaying as one of the major characters from the series, just from the fact I don't look like any of these people), I'm taking a crash course on private school life - basically obtaining all 26 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club, and going marathon - 26 episodes in 26 days - so that I can refine my character. But in all cases, there's some good laughs and a lot of "Oh, that's **bleep**ed up" moments (because we've all seen how snobby rich people can get). It's funny though that I decided to watch the series after deciding that I was going to cosplay as someone from Ouran (and receiving the uniform over the weekend), but hey when I put that jacket on, a) I feel like I just won the Masters, and b) I feel richer.
  • Eureka seveN Ep. 48 Redux - OK, there are two episodes remaining, and a lot has happened in these final few episodes. Remember, it was only last week in which there were major bombshells about the Scub Coral and everything else. Now we see Dewey's masterpiece work - red button + push = big ka-boom! = big hole in the ground. Yeah, I think we could all agree that Dewey is an **bleep**. But what about my boy Dominic? First, he takes command of going after theEND, making Holland play shield as Dominic goes into the Control Cluster to get back what's rightfully his love of his life - Anemone. Speaking of her, her speeches throughout the episode gave me tears...it's sad to hear it from someone who justs wants to be normal, yet is thrown into the fire, being used as a puppet for Dewey's dirty work. All she wants to do is live to see Dominic...which she does, with that tearful reunion in the sky. And hey, don't count out Gulliver...everyone says he pwns so much, and this episode we saw why (Do I really have to explain it all? You saw the episode, right?) But all the happy fun time went bye bye when Dewey pushed the red button again and blew up the whole entire Control Cluster. Everyone, including me, wish Dewey a painful death in the next two episodes.
  • Don Imus - If you haven't heard of Don Imus by now, you must be stupid. Long story short - Imus said some racist comment about the Rugters women's basketball team, calling them "Nappy-haired hoes" and comparing them to the Toronto Raptor's starting lineup, everyone in America gets up and arms, Imus gets suspended two weeks for his comments, Imus gets kick off MSNBC, and finally Imus was fired a few days ago. I know that we're supposed to drop this subject by now, and I have - I just need to write about it this week. The one conversation that I kept hearing over and over again is how can Imus say those types of things and get under fire for it, yet all the rappers can say that and worse things and get praised or even win awards? There are a ton of arguments over this, but at this point - it's over, let's drop it, and let's enjoy the last two episodes of Eureka seveN.

4/22

  • Eureka seveN Ep. 49 - H.O.L.Y. S.H.I.T. Can someone say "plot twist major cliffhanger with one episode to go?" I don't even know where to start...but there's one thing - Dewey is one crazy **bleep** mother**bleep**er. I would classify him as that since a) he somehow embeded a compac drive into his chest ala Norb (and I agree with whoever said that the way Dewey got his is completely different than how Norb got his) b) binded himself to the world, c) committed suicide in a "if I die, I'm taking you all with you" move since he's binded to the world, and d)...there is no d, but you get the point. But somwhere in this conversation among the adults (like Holland and Dewey, who don't know how to shoot and use fake swords), we lost the kids. More importantly, Eureka, Renton, Anemone, and Dominic. In this "plot twist major cliffhanger with one episode to go," when Dewey pulled the trigger, the collars (which, so far, have been a complete mystery) of Anemone and Eureka somehow started to go into a self-destruct mode - like I said, "If I die, I'm taking you all with you...using these collars." And for this "plot twist major cliffanger" to happen with "one episode to go," you hope something's gotta give (and if you saw the preview, you'd know what I mean). But in all seriousness, Renton saying "To Be Continued" all alone kind of sends chills down your spine...I mean, think about it, how would you feel in that exact situation? All in all, let's just hope all the kids are ok, and I'll see you for the finale next week.
  • Bleach Ep. 30 - I didn't get much out of this episode (I didn't catch the whole entire "This is why I want you to save Saddam...err Rukia" portion of the episode), but I think everyone just wanted to see Ichigo vs. Renji Round 2, this time in Renji's homecourt. But despite the homecourt advantage, Ichigo's got some tricks up his sleeves...and that this point, both Ichigo and Renji and seriously underestimating each other, and like the E7 finale, something is gonna give...altough we can come to one conclusion (and this is mine): something is going to happen, and we'll see a Round 3 sometime in the near future.
  • Blood+ Ep. 6 - The good news: they found George, Saya's daddy. The bad news: George dies before the end of the episode, which was really sad (but I didn't cry). The good news: at least George went out by killing a few of those suckers. But somehow, seeing her own daddy's death made her snap and made her attack those suckers with a force we wanted to see all thoughout this episode, but we only got to see at the end. Also, the US decides to pull an Iraq on that little innocent butterfly reseach center with a Surgical Strike. Like I said before, anime needs more Surgical Strikes.
  • Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 3-10 - In my quest to learn the ways of the Ouran Private Academy, I've learned there is a divide between the Host Club members and Haruhi - for the Host Club, they live the rich lifestyle, with lavish fresh-brewed tea and the best cars money can buy; for Haruhi...well, she's not that rich. And for some odd reason, this divide makes up for the majority of the jokes in Ouran, and I love how each of the "rich" Host Club members try to understand Haruhi, who they consider to be a "commoner." Looks like they haven't dealt with anyone who couldn't afford 8,000,000,000 yen right off the bat. And them freaking out over instant coffee is just hilarious, seeing their reactions and their "bravery" when it comes to drinking something that takes 5 seconds to make. All and all, a good series, and some very good moments.

4/29

  • Eureka seveN Ep. 50 (The Good Parts) - I will try to reserve my anger for the other half of the column, but I will say that this was the best ending to a series that has won many fans over, including myself. It had it all - Renton maturing to a badass, Anemone burning on Renton/Eureka, another transformation of the Nirvash (we like to call it Spec3 in the E7 Nation), Renton flying again (see Ep. 2 to see that reference), Renton once again going out to save the world, and well...Renton and Eureka kissing. 49 episodes and on the final episode, they actually do it. But the trippiest part was that the whole entire time, Gonzy was a coralian (and I'm guessing he was there to keep an eye on Eureka) and in about 5 seconds he disappears. Yes, the Second Summer of Love did happen, and all is good in the world 10,000 years into the future. Overall, a great way to end the series...if you saw it on the Fix.
  • Eureka seven Review - For a series that started out slow in the beginning, it really took off right at the Charles and Ray arc and never stopped looking back after that. You could say that the first few episodes were void of any action, but for good reason - those episodes were vital to the character development that evolved throughout the series. If Renton couldn't had handled adjusting to life onboard the Gekko, then how could Renton had done what he done in Ep. 50? Plot development and character development are Eureka seveN's key strengths. I know it has another one of those "14-year-old with no mech experience goes out and saves the world like Gundam," but a very well done series indeed. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's definately in my Top 10. Go do me a favor and go buy the DVDs so that you can watch this great series. (I'll have more a more detailed review next week after I gather everything I wanted to say.)
  • Bleach Ep. 31 & Blood+ Ep. 7 - I don't have time to review these today, but I will point this out: George is still alive? After that beating?
  • Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 11-17 - In this stretch block of episodes, there is an episode that I've already considered to be one of my favorites - Ep. 12. To sum it up, Hunny-chan, who loves sweets and eating cakes, gets a toothache and cavities, meaning he can't eat sweets until his teeth heals. The rest of the episode is just hilarious. He tries to hard to use his kawainess to get the thing he loves, but each time it doesn't work. But time prevails, and he gets to eat sweets again. I also loved the reference to Eureka seveN with the "Bunny Swell" - don't **bleep** with Hunny-chan, or he'll **bleep** you up. I'm not kidding, he'll **bleep** you up.

Now, it's time for my final burns:

  • Eureka seveN Ep. 50 (The Bad Parts) - So, I strike up the TV, wanting to see the Finale to a series that I've grown to love. But, the OP plays, and Eureka's monologue & the beginning of the convo between Holland and Jurgens are cut. I know that the OP is not supposed to play, seeing that i watched it on the Fix the day before. No problem, the episode runs a bit longer than usual, so nothing wrong here. Now, fast foward to the ending. I'm watching the episode right as Gonzy makes his final speech, and I notice that the [adult swim] logo on the bottom right of the screen disappears. This usually means a show is ending or it is going into a commerical break. I'm thinking, "I got a bad feeling about this." Low and behold, the card for "One Year Later" shows up. But after that, it's not the shot of the "Big Thurston 'Welcome to my family' Dinner"...IT'S THE ENDING. Yes folks, [as] cut about 4 minutes of the finale for Eureka seveN. For what, advertising slots? So that you could squeeze in more slots for advertising Head-On and ATHF? You gotta be kidding me [as]! You played it uncut on the Fix, why not the same the the TV broadcast? You may have done away with the shows on April Fools for PHF, and played with our minds over and over again, but this has the be the final draw. If [as] did this to E7, then what could [as] do its current shows Bleach or Blood+, or shows that they pick up, like Death Note or Black Lagoon? Out of everything [as] has done to **bleep** off the anime fans, this one strikes the most - and it wasn't even intentional. All they wanted was to size down the show for advertising slots. Let's hope [as] learns from their mistakes.
  • Renton Thurston & The World Series of Poker - So, I found out that Renton Thurston, my boy from Eureka seveN, has decided to enter the 2007 World Series of Poker. But I read why - he cleaned house at a cast tournament for the end of the series. Look Renton, you can't expect to clean house from 9 ameturers, then go out and burn 10k and expect to clean house from 2000+ professionals. I even think that's abusrd, and I've been through tournaments (well, not the WSOP, but I've been in tournament situations). Before you go out and spend 10k to sit at the tables for 2 hours, let me help you. I challenge you to a heads-up game; if you win, I'll pay for your entry. If I win, you get to pay for my entry, plus a massage from Eureka and Anemone...ok, maybe not the massage part. So give me a call when you want to go heads-up.

  • Eureka seveN Ep. 50...again - Kudos to [as] for doing what's right here - re-airing Ep. 50 as a whole, no edits, and a ton of happy people, myself included. I do believe that this was in fact an error and not something as intentional like April Fools, but at least [as] was able to pick up what had dropped off and was able to salvage the ending and replay it for all the fans to see. Since it aired again, I won't be reviewing it again...you can see last week's Burning to see the whole review.
  • Bleach Ep. 32 - All I needed to get out of this episode was that Renji and Rukia found each other in the ghetto, and became great friends. They hooked up with a bunch of other friends, but they all died (to undisclosed reasons), and at that point they all decided to become Soul Reapers. Then Rukia got an offer to get adopted, and Renji...didn't doing anything. And now instead of blaming orange-haired dude name Ichigo for all of that, he finally blamed himself for not doing anything in objecting, and that he wants Rukia to be saved. Wow, so much for a flip-flopper.
  • Blood+ Ep. 8 - I wasn't really paying attention on this one, but I found out that Saya is a **bleep** magnet (well, according to some). OK, not really but it had the vibe throughout this episode. Maybe our heads were in the gutter in that episode. Either than that...will the real Saya please stand up? The one that was in Vietnam? Anyone?
  • Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 18-23 - Remember how I said "Don't **bleep** with Hunny-chan?" Well, to some extent, you also don't want to **bleep** with Nekozawa-senpai. But instead of **bleep** you up like Hunny-chan, Nekozawa-senpai will scare the **bleep** out of you. No wonder he's the president of the Dark Magic Club at "The O" (yes, I called Ouran "The O" ) Also, to some extent, you also don't want to **bleep** with Tamaki-senpai...only if you have reservations to court Haruhi. He'll find a way to get rid you faster than the Warriors getting rid of the Mavs. Next week, I will break down the whole series, and give my final review.

Now it is time for my final burn:

  • Renton and the WSOP, Pt. 2 - Renton finally gave me a call, and left me some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Renton will play poker with me...just not heads up. I think he chickened out a bit, and instead of going heads-up, he wants to get me in a 10-man tournament. It would be me, Matthieu, Dewey (yes, him), Holland, and Talho against me and the 4 people that I want. So, in response to that, I'd called my buddies up at Full Tilt Poker and ask them to be on my team. I think I heard Renton's jaw dropped when he heard it would be me, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow, and Jennifer Harman against his crew. Yeah, good luck at the table bro, and I'll see you in a week. And, oh, BTW, $1,000,000 winner-takes-all.

5/13

  • Bleach Ep. 33 - I didn't get the chance to watch this week's Bleach, although now we are in the fillers...but at least these fillers have some comedy value to it and are a great sidestep from the overall plot, unlike InuYasha. Now, I haven't heard of much, but if Bleach grows out more than IY's 160+ episodes, then there is going to be some pointless filler in there. It's a common problem with a "super series" - more than the standard 26 or 52 episode range. When the anime beats out the manga to a certain point, the anime usually has to wait for the manga to catch up so that they have more source material to work with when they actually do go back to the actual storyline. Then again, all anime has some type of filler.

Blood+ Ep. 9 - I didn't pay much attention to this one, but apprently that clocktower dude is still alive, and I'm guessing that he's still alive at the end of this episode.

  • Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 24-26 - Wow, what a great way to end this series! Hey, let's throw in some random **bleep** and let's throw in a curveball with one episode to go! Seriously, where this Lady Éclair come from? The middle of nowhere? France? Some whorehouse? And what gave her the right to say "Hey, marry me and you get to see your mommy, but then the Host Club has the be disbanded since you're going back home" to Tamaki? That is the biggest load of bull I've ever heard! But hey, in the end the Host Club stays and everyone is happy. Now if only they'd make a second season.
  • Ouran High School Host Club Full Review - For a genre that's not my cup of tea, I enjoyed this series. Like I said throughout, there are a ton of good laughs, and a lot of "WTF?" moments (I'm freakin' serious here!) in between this plotline of Haruhi finding herself climbing the ranks of the Host Club, while playing a game to keep the secret that she's actually a girl dressed up as one of the guys (from Ep. 1 on, only the Host Club members and Haruhi's dad know that Haruhi's a girl...everyone else think she's a boy, and she **bleep** looks like one). I thought the ending was a bit weird (as shown above) but in the end all is well in the world of "The O." My training is now complete, and now it is time to blend the culture of "The O" with my own culture.
  • Team GekkoState vs. Team Full Tilt Poker Shootout at The O, Pt. 1 - Everything is set for the showdown to determine who is best from the cast of Eureka seveN, veteran poker players, and me. But we did run into a problem - since Renton is underage (and me as well), we really can't play at an actual casino, and since that happened the WSOP backed out as the host of this shootout. So I pulled some connections with the Ouran High School Host Club (yes, them) and called up a crew from the World Poker Tour to do all the filming and commentary. Kyoya was very glad to as to pull as much strings, allowing us to convert the Third Music Room into the WPT Final Table. Of course now that we are playing in Japan, it's time to ante up the prize money...100 million...yen. That comes out to about 850,000 USD, which is a bit less than the million that we were supposed to originally play for. But both sides agreed, and the stage is set for the shootout..next week.

  • [as] Weekend - I forgot to watch Bleach and Blood+ over the weekend. Suprisingly, I was actually busy and doing something on a Saturday night...there's a reason Saturday nights are not good in the ratings. But if this keeps up, I might have to go to "other means" to obtain these missed episodes. Let's pray to god that this doesn't happen.
  • Fanime BLOWOUT PREVIEW!!! - So, yeah, next week is FanimeCon in San Jose, one of the biggest cons of all of the Bay Area and probably is second largest in size to the giant known as Anime Expo in California. Like I've been saying, I'm pretty jacked up and I'm ready to go whenever the date hits. If you plan to attend Fanime, make sure you look for the Ouran High School Host Club cosplayers. One of them should be wearing a sticky note with the note "Yes, I'm glompable!" That would be me. So stop by and say hi to me. And ladies, don't hesitate to do just that. Of course, I will bring you a full rundown on Tuesday, assuming I can get up from bed Tuesday to write the **bleep** thing. I will also be reporting in whenever I can via blog, but for the most part will be enjoying myself at Fanime. See you all there next week.
  • Shooutout @ The O, Part 1 - So, the shootout is finally here, but not without some complaining. Of course Renton is going to complain that I got the best poker players to be part of my team. So Full Tilt decided to allow some of the other "Team Full Tilt" to coach the E7 Team of Renton, Holland, Dewey, and Matthieu - that would be Andy Bloch, Phil Gordon, Clonie Gowen, Erick Lindgren, and Erik Siedel. But somehow, I was also able to slip in Chris "Jebus" Furguson to coach me a bit as well. I also got word that a third member would join the commentary duo of Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten - but it's not Talho or Jennifer Harman. It'll be Renge. Who? That's right, the self-proclaimed "manageress" of the Host Club. At least there will be some very colorful commentary, 1/3 not related to poker and probably to moe. Anyways, the action will start two weeks from now. Besides, it'll take awhile for the E7 Team to get coached.
