| :Yes and no. Such a list would in fact be a very good idea. However, it should not REPLACE the stinger part in the article. It would just be a seperate article that first explains what stingers in YGOTAS are like, then lists all stingers (with links to the episodes). If possible, this should be done with all recurring jokes, such as Kaiba's 'screw the rules, I have money' (which would also list 'screw the rules, I have green hair' and 'I had no money, so I was unable to screw the rules').VDZ 06:23, 23 September 2007 (EDT) | | :Yes and no. - | ::Okay, I agree that not inserting everythingdirectly into the transcript is fine, but if we don't do that, I think a system of footnoting would be in order. The idea would be to organize things in a way that makes it easy to refer between the transcript and the references section. Now, on Wikipedia generally the footnotes appear in smaller text, but it seems that it's just as easy to do regular sized footnotes. Still, one thing that I noticed is that the reference/footnote tags () don't quite seem to...um,...work. Yeah, I'm not too sure about that either.

- | ::In any case, what I'd like to do is get rid of as much superfluous language as possible. Now, this may sound odd, but I think what's best is that we stick to a format that is organized, very accessible, and easy to read. I'd eventually like to smooth it out to the extent that it is no longer neccessary to say "the part where" or "when X says". My other idea is that we keep the transcript intact, but at the same time, in the references section, couple the description with the actual quote, so instead of looking like this:

When Pegasus appears on screen, he starts off by saying 'Seven days...'. Both are references to Ring, a Japanese horror film about a cursed video tape that causes everybody who watches it to die seven days later.

| |
- | ::Pegasus (on tape): Seven days.

- | ::And I agree with you about the stinger, and that even if we're going to have a separate page we should keep it in the episode's article as well. Also, it may seem a bit unnecessary but could we keep the table format? It would only have 2 (possibly 3) columns, and one row, but still, just for the purposes of organization I think it would be a good idea. - | :::I think <ref> is a wikipedia-only thing. Or it might be from a newer version (this wiki uses an older version of the software...for example, we can't use if statements for templates either). We'll figure it out somehow...or somebody will come eventually who does know how to do it :P

- | :::I like the current way of explaining references better...what you're trying to do looks okay with one reference, but wouldn't look very nice with multiple references.
| |
- |
| |
- | :::The stinger table is completely fine, and should be used when we make that page (with all three columns). VDZ 17:11, 23 September 2007 (EDT)

- | ::::I kind of think the format I outlined works just as well with multiple references. I took the liberty of reformatting the entire references section of the article in my user space, and I think it looks pretty good. I also added some, which I'll add to the article once we agree on a format, and I placed them in chronological order, based on the order in which they appear in the episode. I think that way makes it easier for a person to find what they're looking for. Take a look and tell me what you think. Tatterdemalion 18:06, 23 September 2007 (EDT)

- | ::::::Sorry, that was just an oversight on my part. So do we agree on this format, at least for now? Tatterdemalion 15:51, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

- | :::::::Actually, now I'm looking at it again...how do I say this...you can't immediately see when the explanation for reference 1 ends and the explanation for reference 2 starts - it looks like one block of text. When you completely read it, it seems fine, but if you start reading then recognize the reference, you might want to skip to the next reference, because you already know what reference 1 is about. However, you can't see where to continue reading without reading the whole thing.VDZ 09:04, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
