The Democratic Socialist Party of Liberalia (DSPL) advocates socialism as a basis for the economy and democracy as a governing principle. We are the opposite of socialism that associates itself with authoritarian or totalitarian elements. We are people united in brotherhood and the common belief in democracy and the power to the workers and the common man.

Manifesto
Overall Principle
The Democratic Socialist Party's primary principle is that the people of Liberalia must work together as a collective body than a quagmire of squabbling people fighting for a limited or blinded focus. We believe that this can be achieved though collective governance through a straightford democratic process in all aspects and situtations. No matter the issue, power should be in the hands of the people and the workers of the region. The economic affairs and the means of production should be owned by the entire population as a cohesive and collective body and not a few privilaged individuals. The future of this region should be focus upon the new generation, they are our future.
Economy
The economy and means of production should be in the hands of ordinary working people, or in older terminology the "working class". Democratic socialism involves the entire population controlling the economy through some type of democratic system, whether through direct democracy or through representive unions or councils. Our position on markets should be a combination of regulation and openess. All tariffs should be voted upon depending on the industry in question.
Industry
Industry must be regulated to an extent by the state and by the people. The DSPL supports a minimum wage regionwide as all people should be treated fairly and all must be collectively paid based upon his profession or his merit and/or skill.
Labor Laws Supported
- Anti-Discriminatory Laws – Determination of employment on the basis of religion, creed, gender, orientation, race or skin color is unacceptable.
- Mandatory Notice – All full-time workers over the age of 18 must be given a minimum of a week notice prior to being laid-off. Likewise, workers are required to give their employer a minimum of a week's notice prior to ending their employment.
- Safety - All workers have the right to work in a safe workplace. The DSPL believes that it is the responsibility of individual member nations to inspect workplaces within their countries and to order any necessary repairs or closures. Should any safety check fail, the workers themselves have the power to make reform via direct democracy.
- Child Labor - A basic set of labor laws regulating the employment of minors should be put into practice, as schooling should be the primary focus of all Liberalian children. The Party does recognize that part-time employment plays an important role in the lives of many teenagers and as such, it should be permitted, with a few restrictions.
Education
The children of our region are the future and nothing must be spared from their learning. All children must attend 14 years of public schooling between the ages of 5-18. Curriculums will be determined by each nation but all schools will be made to teach national and regional heritage, history and culture between the ages of 14-18. Since education is the cornerstone of the future, dropping out of school will be forbidden. After the age of adulthood (18) is reached, the student has the choice to ether stop with his education and go to work for the collective whole or continue with higher learning with state funding.
All religions have the right to establish their own faith-based schools, but in the interest of avoiding an unnecessary entanglement of church and state, they should receive no public funding. However church will not be tolerated in public-run educational facilities.
A college/university education is rapidly becoming a minimum requirement for many skilled jobs. The DSPL strongly encourage all qualified students to attend either a university or a trade school upon graduation from grade school. We support a system of low-interest government loans for students from qualifying, low-income families.
Health
The Democratic Socialist Party strongly supports the creation of a regionwide universial healthcare system. Everyone should be given equal healthcare. With the healthcare system, we also support a universial medicare system which would allow people to obtain the medications they require at a discounted price.
Foreign Affairs
The Party takes a centrist view on foreign affairs since we do want to see the spread of the Socialist Cause but we do not like to partake in foreign wars of aggression unless we had no other option. We would, however, support an intelligence program and a system of military cooperation for the purposes of regional defense and defending the cause.
We would actively search for new allies and partner regions to expand Liberalia's influence throughout the NS world, provided said regions met the minimum regional qualifications for diplomatic relations.
We would grant temporary political asylum to all nations who requested it.
Religion
Religion has no place within government or in public. It must be a strictly private affair. All groups should be allowed to practice their beliefs (including non-belief), but are expected to do so in a peaceful, law-abiding manner.
Justice/Crime
The DSPL believes in a fair trial by a jury of impartial citizens via direct democratic process. All punishments will be determined by an judge of the state and on the degree of the case at hand. No one will be given the death penalty unless the case is severe and an advisory committee recommends it.
