KIRBYCHU HR'D: Today I'm reviewing the worst game on earth, Sonic the Crapface... I mean hedgehog, for the Sega Genesis.
Review Time!
To tell you the truth, I've never played the original game, but I've seen enough videos and played enough remakes that I've got a pretty good idea of what it's like. Far a short backstory, Sonic is a anthropomorphic blue hedgehog. What is this odd creature's power? RUNNING. All he's capable of doing is running and jumping. He can't even swim! His power ups don't do much of anything either, ant he gets them from what looks like TVs.
Pros
- Sonic is fairly simple to control, all you need to do is hold down the D-pad and jump when needed.
- He's blue. Blue is a nice color.
- Some of the game's music is good.
- The graphics aren't all that bad.
Cons
- The levels are almost exactly the same!
- The method of beating the level boss is the same for each level.
- He can't swim. What kind of video game character can't swim!?!
- The music gets repetitive after a while.
- The power ups do barely anything!
- The levels are confusing, and are like mazes at times.
- THE WAY YOUR LIVES WORK. If you get hit, you lose rings, if you lose all your rigs, you die. Since when does currency double as your life force? You don't see us dieing when we forget our wallet!
- The controls are hard to figure out.
- Sonic's speed is also a great weakness, as you can run into enemies quite easily.
- Sonic doesn't stop moving when you let go, he slides along the ground for a short distance. This isn't good if you're trying to avoid running into an enemy.
- The plot is the same as all other games! Ever heard of "originality"?
So yeah, that's Sonic the Hedgehog for you. As for a rating, it gets a 2/10. It has only a few pros, and way to many cons.
