Cyborgs lift Worm Cup crown
In a startling suprise, Cyborgs lifted the Worm Cup trophe yesterday. After playing brilliantly, they were looking to get themselves a win and now they have. This is their first win in over thirty years. Cyborg Sam has this to say: "I am truly amazed that my team have managed to win again. We are not just some old team. We are veterans who are heading for their third win in 2009. I hope that we can lift a second cup in a row and maybe a third, like the great Villains No. 1 did earlier".
Shadow Announces Retirement Date
Sonic Team veteran Shadow has recently announced when he will retired from International Worms. He issued this statement to the public:
"I've finally decided to just get on with Sonic Team and finish my Brazilian career. I can't travel as much as I used to and my retirement from Worms may come soon after. For now, I will just play for Sonic Team and finish my career after a while. I will retire from International Worms on 1 May 2010."
It is expected that he will remain in Worms for the rest of the year and then retire. He has also mentioned working as a Manager in the future. If he becomes a Manager, his team will know that they have a brilliant player on their side.
Nature Strike Dispute Settled
The French owners of Nature Strike have been fined over $1 billion and Natrue Strike is due to be transfered to its new Spanish owners by April 27th. This decision came shortley after Nature Strike captain, Typhoon, made a public statement criticising the French owners. Iceland withdrew their appeal shortly after the deal was confirmed in the early hours of April 24th.
USA and England to Sell Two Clubs
Both the USA and England have recently been told to sell two of their many teams. England have started this by completing Masters move to Ukraine, leaving them with one left. The USA are yet to sell any, although Panama and Argentina have shown some interest in buying DNA and Argentina have an offer accepted, so they should purchase DNA very quickly. The transfer has occurred now and both Nations are to sell 1 more club.
Nature Strike Dispute gets Bigger/Typhoon Hits Out at France
On the 18th of April 2008 the owners of Nature Strike, France, were made an offer for the club by Spain, of $2 billion. France accepted this, but later canceled it and demanded more. Spain were furious and brought the matter into court. Both countries are still disputing over who should have it and now Iceland has declared interest in Nature Strike.
Typhoon, Nature Strike's captain, issued this statement:
"All I wish is that the countries get this settled so we can concentrate on the Worm Cup more, instead of having to be subject to this dispute. I just can't believe that France canceled the deal and plunged us into this disarray. The should have agreed the deal at first instead of having to go through all this."
It's now up to the countries and the law to decide if Spain gets Nature Strike and France gets its $2 billion or the deal falls through.
Name Captain Delighted with Qualification
Name's captain is said to be absolutely delighted with the way the team played in the qualifications and qualified for the Worm Cup. He issued this statement:
"I'm just stunned. It's a dream come true! Our rankings will be shooting up and it's been worth it."
The Chilean team will be facing some more popular teams and are said to be ready for a big fight. They don't expect to win, but they do want to enjoy the moment, while they can.
