The Royal Saudi Navy is the Naval force of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and reports to the Saudi Ministry of Defence. The Navy has about 20,000 officers and men, including 1200 Marines. The Naval headquarters is in Riyadh. The Western Fleet is based in the Red Sea with the main base at Jeddah. The Eastern Fleet is based in the Persian Gulf with the headquarters at Jubail. Other naval facilities were located at Yanbu, Dammam, and Ras al Mishab.

The Royal Saudi Navy is the smallest of the Saudi armed forces. Its main role is securing the Persian Gulf, which is the country's most vital trade route, and is the route down which oil exports travel. The forces of Marines is has only a rudimentary amphibious role. Its main job is oil trade security, including oil platforms, oil terminals, and tankers.
