Just a stale piece of prey

As you drag the mysterious lump out of the dark shade of the nursery,you smell a funny smell coming from it. "What is that smell?" mewed Thrushkit, wrinkling her nose in disgust.
"I don't know," you reply,also making a face at the awful smell. "We should ask Mother." Thrushkit agrees and you both run off to get Birdsong. You find her sharing tongues with Gingerface, your aunt.
"Mother! Come and see what Redkit found!" cried Thrushkit in excitement.
Gingerface rumbled in amusement, "Maybe I'll come too, sounds like an adventure." All of you run back to where you found the bad-smelling lump.
"What is it?" you demand, feeling excited and happy you found it. To your suprise, Birdsong and Gingerface,Birdsong in particular, seemed to be in shock.
She turned to you and hissed, "Where did you find this?"
A little taken back by her tone,you didn't reply right away,"W-what?"
Birdsong narrowed her eyes. Suddenly, a loud yowl erupted from the entrance of camp. "Bloodclan are attacking! Hide the kits and elders!" Quickly, she surged forward and gripped you by your scruff,nudging Thrushkit along toward the nursery entrance.
"Stay in here!" she ordered,putting you down by Thrushkit, who ran off to a corner to hide. An attack on the Clan! What do you do?
