You sit down beneath a burnt elm tree, trying to tell from scent, sight, or hearing where you are. Nothing familiar comes to you except that familiar scent. You realize it's stronger, and it leads towards a trail down a hill. Farther back, boggy ground looks uninviting, with sticky mud and peaty earth mixed together. If you went eastward, the land looked pretty much the same as it is here; pretty flat, with some undergrowth, but not much. Westward, the land becomes more barren, and the scent of Twolegs there too strong to handle out there...
