Make your way towards the scent of water

You decide that if your father wants to get rid of you so badly, you might as well give him what he wants. Eyes narrowed, you slink off in the direction of the water you have scented.
You pad through the forest, newly fallen leaves crunching beneath your paws, until you come to a clear, sparkling stream. A thin band of water rushes away to your east, occasionally carrying the silver shape of a fish with it. You bend over to drink it, but leap back when you realize the speed at which it's moving. One slip up, and you could be washed away for good!
Abruptly, you detect the vibrations of another cat, much larger than you, padding in your direction!
