Composite number

A Composite number is a positive number which can be divided other than one or itself. The number one is considered to be neither prime nor composite.

Examples

The following is a list of examples:

  • 16 is a composite number.

16 / 4 = 4 and 16 / 2 = 8

  • 42 is a composite number.

42 / 6 = 7 and 42 / 3 = 14
