PlayStation 2 games come on a revolutionary new type of media storage thingy. Sony's new DVD format holds 1.5 times the information that a PlayStation One disc (CD) could hold. This allows the PlayStation 2 to read DVDs. However, it can only read legal movie DVDs that you bought at Wal-Mart. However, due to legal reasons, the PS2 will not play rented movies, bargain bin movies, or movies borrowed from friends.

Despite the fact that the successor, the PlayStation 3, exists, Sony is still manufacturing PlayStation 2 consoles. Also, companies are continuing to make games for it. Every month the PS2 sells more units than the PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. Because of this, Sony refuses to let the console die. The PlayStation 2 is the best selling colsole for 81 years and has sold 864,235,276,223,257,259.51 units.
