The Chevrolet El Camino (Spanish for The Camino) was a coupe utility manufactured by Chevrolet between 1959 and 1961.

In 1957, Ford introduced the Ranchero with great success. Being Chevrolet, they decided to cash in on the new market. The first El Camino was sold in 1959. In 1960, the El Camino was a huge failure selling less than the 1959 model. In 1961, Chevrolet canceled the El Camino. Chevrolet decided that it was just a fad and decided to stop waisting money on the El Camino.
